Tarot cards are powerup unlockables that can be acquired by completing levels while adhering to a certain condition (for example collecting a number of souls or killing all enemies). They come in two variants.
There are golden cards, which are activated by the player at their discretion and grant various powers which last only a limited time (though there are other cards that can increase that time). Golden cards can normally be used once per level, but there are certain cards which grant additional uses up to three times per level.
The other type are silver cards, which (like their golden counterparts) are also selected before starting a level, but instead provide a passive bonus throughout the whole level.
Note: The properties of all cards were copied word for word from the game itself to ensure maximum accuracy. Arguably, in some cases this is not equivalent to "maximum clarity", so just bear with it.
